Glendale - Sidewalks, a snow plow and computer system are among the items included in the city's 2012 capital improvement program.
The Common Council approved the spending plan, which at this point does not include funding for construction at the North Shore Library.
City Administrator Richard Maslowski said the council will discuss the library in February, weighing the pros and cons of adding space to the existing library or moving it to a new building.
The capital improvement program includes the purchase of a new snow plow truck to replace an existing 1992 model, the reconstruction of North Shasta Drive, North Dexter Avenue and North 24th Street, painting the inside of the water tank, replacement of the city computer system, street paving and provide Community Block Grant funding, if available, for replacement of the sidewalks along West Glendale Avenue. The city also plans to continue working on repairs or replacement of sewer laterals on private property through a program that is partly funded by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District.
The estimated cost to the city for the programs is $1.5 million.
